Web Developer II

Role Responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and troubleshoot production systems and applications across a broad spectrum of technologies
  • Drive the design and implement updates and additions to existing web services ensuring proper design, structure and frameworks
  • Primary focus in web & mobile applications constructed in Coldfusion and PHP with database backend (Oracle or MySQL)
  • Assist with monitoring and responding to reported product issues from internal and external sources
  • Analyze complex application, system and infrastructure issues
  • Serve as line of business IT representative on web application maintenance and upgrade initiatives
  • Collaborate with numerous business and IT entities to resolve production issues (network, windows, unix, production control, development, application support, users, quality assurance, and LOB/IT management)
  • Modify application to mitigate defects and proactively reduce system exposure to future incidents
  • Participate in system testing and validation of production changes
  • Extensive modifications to OLTP web applications integrating with Oracle database and consumption of third-party web services
  • Familiarize on all production changes being made to the environment and actively offer constructive means to reduce potential impacts from change
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Information Technology Manager

The Ideal Candidate

Required Qualifications

  • Core competency includes hands-on web application development, support  & design in an database centric environment
  • HTML, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, SQL
  • Experience with AJAX, XML, JSON, FTP, and SOAP
  • Proficiency with web markup languages, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Excellent understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including JQuery
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Competency integrating web applications with enterprise databases
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to imagine multiple “out of the box” solutions to a problem
  • Ability to adapt quickly to the current business challenges and technologies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Successful candidates in these roles often have an innate curiosity, along with desire to satisfy the user community

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Knowledge of Coldfusion/CFML web application server
  • Experience with API/Web Service technologies, including REST APIs services and clients (REST, JSON, SOAP and XML)
  • Experience developing in PHP web applications via LAMP architecture
  • Experience working with enterprise databases
  • Experience developing or supporting highly complex database driven transaction processing web/mobile applications
  • Coldfusion/CFML web applications and PHP built web portals
  • Oracle E*Business Suite familiarity

 

 

B: Schedule, and Expectations

This position will serve as a level II support engineer and will be required to work outside normal business hours in response to production outages & impacts.  The candidates objective is to eliminate those occurrences by identifying and closing vulnerabilities before they result in a production incident.
